Truck crash sends chickens all over Aiken County roadway

WAGENER, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A tractor-trailer carrying chickens was involved in a traffic accident Monday morning in Aiken County, sending the birds and their cages all over the roadway.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported no injuries in the 7:29 a.m. crash in the area of Sand Dam and Cline Taylor roads north of Wagener at the county line near the North Fork Edisto River, according to authorities.
Patrol Lance l. Tyler Tidwell said Sand Dam Road was shut down for a time in the area so the mess could be cleaned up.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation showed the roadway open again by 8:45 a.m.
