AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - After months of planning, Com for Hope debuted its new mobile laundry unit.

Inside are two stack washers and dryers for those who need them – at no cost.

On Sunday, the organization set it up at the James Brown Arena parking lot along with its mobile shower unit.

The nonprofit also teamed up with other community groups to give out free haircuts and clothing.

Mike Garrison with Com for Hope said the mobile laundry is another tool to help continue his mission to help those in need.

“Clothing is such an issue with the homeless population because generally things are disposable until they are replaceable. so now hopefully we’ll be able to help people get things cleaned up,” he said.

El Ray Taqueria was also on hand providing food for those in need.
