AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Project Refresh hosted one of its shower days for the homeless on Wednesday.

In addition to free showers, they will offer haircuts, clothes, food, resources and more to help those in need.

It’s a monthly event at the Richmond County Health Department on Laney Walker Boulevard, said the Rev. LisaAnn Wheeler, one of the organizers.

Rides will offered by the Augusta Transit from the Broad Street transfer center, the Salvation Army Center of Hope and Gap Ministries.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. until noon on Laney Walker Boulevard.

Similar efforts to help fill often-overlooked needs have recently been offered by the Salvation Army, Com for Hope, GAP Ministries and the Augusta Rescue Mission.
