Volunteers band together for Bamberg Street cleanup

BAMBERG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A group of local volunteers got together ahead of Earth Day to clean up Bamberg Street.
The team contributed 46 volunteer hours, collecting 24 bags of trash, totaling 360 pounds. The collected waste included various items, such as boards, construction siding and even a weed trimmer.
Fifteen volunteers, including Zeta Phi Beta Sorority , as well as Bamberg County Councilman Larry Haynes, Bamberg Councilwoman Bobbi Bunch and Denmark Councilwomen Rosa James and Charnda Williams.
“We are immensely grateful to all the council for their commitment to our community and enthusiastic participation in our Earth Day cleanup event,” said Alisha Moore, director of Keep Bamberg County Beautiful. “Their involvement underscores the importance of local leadership in preserving our environment and keeping Bamberg clean and beautiful.”
