Suspect identified in murder of 22-year-old at Augusta nightclub
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 29-year-old man as the suspect in a fatal shooting early this year at a local nightclub.
Michael Scott is wanted on a murder charge for the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Chrishawn Martin on Jan. 20 at Club Rain, 1855 Gordon Highway.
Scott has multiple outstanding warrants, including for the charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to deputies.

Deputies on Tuesday released the name of a suspect they’re seeking for a shooting late last year that claimed the life of a 20-year-old in south Augusta.

Also known as “Meat,” he’s 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and is known to frequent the Basswood Drive neighborhood, according to deputies.
He’s considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting sparked efforts by some in Augusta government to penalize the nightclub for the perception that it attracts crime. It was the penalty was reversed.
The shooting is part of an an outbreak of violent crime that’s claimed more than 150 lives since April 2022. Communities large and small on both sides of the Savannah River have been affected, but Augusta has been hit especially hard.
