Retired Aiken beer returns to Good Girl Brewing Company
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A beloved beer is returning to Aiken.
As many know, the Aiken Brewing Company closed its doors last year.
Last month, we told you there was a new brewery in town — Good Girl Brewing Company.
Now, with permission from the former brewery, Good Girl Brewing Company is serving the “Thoroughbred Red”.
Com for Hope gives out bikes to help homeless
A local nonprofit will take that bike you’re no longer using. Com for Hope is working to bring change in the lives of those facing homelessness.

It’s an award-winning beer that’s been served since 1997 in our area, which means part of Aiken Brewing Company lives on with Good Girl Brewing.
“It’s an Aiken favorite. So, as Aiken Brewing Company unfortunately had to close their doors and move on, the desire for folks to have ‘Thoroughbred Red’ was still there. We spoke with the owners and prior brewer of the recipe and everybody was on board with the idea of bringing it here to GGBC so we could bring it back to Aiken,” said Andrew Phifer, co-owner of Good Girl Brewing Company.
Phifer used to work for Aiken Brewing Company. He says it was personal for the owners to keep the beer’s legacy alive.
Good Girl Brewing Company says they’ve already had many beer lovers excited over the retired beer coming back.
