AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Officials say some voters were inadvertently sent to the wrong polling locations Tuesday for the primary runoff, but the situation was quickly fixed.

Richmond County Board of Elections Executive Director Travis Doss said that when voters arrived, they tried to find their correct polling locations using a “poll pad” device.

These voters were sent to advance voting locations, which are not the correct voting locations on Election Day.

Once the problem was discovered, officials notified the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, and the poll pads’ programming was addressed.

This only affected people for the first hour of voting, and those who were already arriving at the wrong polling location.

Doss said he spoke to two voters regarding the issue and a candidate on behalf of another voter.

Doss said that’s all he’s aware of.
