ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Four people died at a Coweta County home early Saturday morning after what appears to be a murder-suicide, according to the county sheriff’s office.

Around 1 a.m., deputies were called to the home on Crabapple Court in Sharpsburg after multiple 911 calls. They found two bodies in the driveway and one in the doorway, the sheriff’s office said. As law enforcement arrived, a man ran inside the home and deputies heard a gunshot.

A SWAT team was called, and the man was later found dead inside the house, according to the sheriff’s office.

Most of the neighbors Atlanta News First spoke with said the community is typically quiet. Many of them were shocked something like this happened in their backyards.

“It’s really close to home, you know. It’s crazy to think that something like that could happen that close and not know. And to think that four people back to back to back, right by your house,” said Audrey Jackson, a woman who lives in the neighborhood.

Four people died at a Coweta County home early Saturday morning after what appears to be a murder-suicide, according to the county sheriff’s office.

Brandi Wright, who lives very close to the home where the deaths occurred, said she heard something unusual around 12:30 a.m.

“It just had started raining, and my mom had said, ‘Did you hear that? It sounds like thunder,’” she said. “And I told her, I was like, ‘I don’t think that was thunder.’ It sounded just like a gunshot because it was a lot louder than thunder.”

As Wright spoke about the murders, she was visibly shaken. She said when she woke up in the morning, a neighbor called to tell her what had happened.

“Nothing’s ever happened like this in this area. I live right around the corner, and it’s just crazy how it’s so close to home. You can’t even stay safe in your own home anymore. It’s insane,” Wright said. “I’m really nervous about it ... I’ve been living here all my life, and it’s just crazy to know about this.”

None of the victims have been identified yet.
