New details in deadly shooting of 39-year-old in Thomson

THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We’re learning new details after a 39-year-old was killed in a shooting in Thomson on Friday morning.

Coroner Paul Johnson says the call came in at 5:14 a.m. for a fatal shooting at a home in the 1200 block of Royal Street.

Johnson told us he arrived on the scene and pronounced Calvin Hart Jr. dead at 6 a.m.

Hart was discovered inside the home with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.

A GBI Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy at the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur, Georgia.

Currently, no arrests have been made. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations and the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
