Key SRS contractor donates $20,000 to Child Enrichment Inc.

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Savannah River Nuclear Solutions presented Child Enrichment Inc. with a $20,000 contribution to sponsor its “Cookin’ for Kids Oyster Roast” at the Columbia County fairgrounds in Grovetown.

Child Enrichment Inc. s local children who are victims of abuse, neglect and exploitation in Columbia, Burke, Richmond and six other counties in Georgia.

Library just completed its $1.8 million renovation project with the of its friends and community partners. Donors were crucial in this effort.

“Child Enrichment is dedicated to providing a voice and a path forward to children and families in our community that have experienced abuse, neglect or child sex trafficking,” said Child Enrichment Executive Director Kari Viola-Brooke.

The organization has found safe permanent homes and provided counseling, forensic interviewing and court advocacy for over 1,100 child abuse victims.

A Grovetown mom was arrested Thursday for allegedly hitting her young son in the eye and telling him not to talk about it, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

“We are proud to an organization whose mission is to children and families in our community who have experienced abuse. It’s our way of giving back and ensuring these families have the resources and they need to heal and thrive,” Burroughs said.

Since 2019, SRNS has contributed $115,000 to the organization’s mission.

SRNS is the management and operations contractor at the Savannah River Site.
