As you prepare to travel for the holiday, gas prices in Richmond, Columbia and Burke counties are below the state’s average price for gas as of Sunday.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Before you drive to visit family and friends for Thanksgiving, check out the average gas prices per gallon in the CSRA on Wednesday.

As of Wednesday morning, in the Augusta-Aiken area gas prices were averaged at $2.87 per gallon, according to AAA.

Whereas Georgia’s price averaged at $2.93 the day before Thanksgiving.

Other counties’ average price:

  • Burke - $2.91
  • Columbia - $2.81
  • Lincoln - $2.92
  • Wilkes - $2.91
  • Taliaferro - $3.02
  • Hancock - $3.03
  • Washington - $2.84
  • Glascock - $2.82
  • Jefferson - $2.93
  • Jenkins - $2.90
  • Screven - $2.92
  • Emanuel - $3.10

Across the river in the Aiken-Edgefield area, AAA reports the price on Wednesday at $2.80.

The South Carolina average price was $2.79, according to AAA.

The national average price for regular gas now sits at $3.07 per gallon.

Which is a six-cent drop from a month ago and 18 cents less than the price at this time last year.
