Augusta Commissioner Francine Scott sworn in for new term
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Augusta Commissioner Francine Scott was sworn in at Broadway Baptist Church in Augusta on Sunday morning.
The District 9 commissioner was re-elected to the spot.
She said from her first term she was proud of the first piece of legislation that was ed.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the deadline for federal assistance from Hurricanes Debby and Helene for Georgia residents.

On Sunday, she highlighted the Non-Discrimination Act and told us what she is looking forward to doing in her next term.
“My focus is going to really be community work as it has always been in the past, but a priority. Making sure there’s health care, making sure people have food, making sure people have livable wages,” said Scott.
The new commissioners will officially start their roles in January.
