Pregnant mother, 24, killed in crash had a heart of gold, friend says

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) - A South Carolina mother and her unborn child were killed when she went off the road while driving on the interstate.

Officials say 24-year-old Marie Jabbie was driving on Interstate 385 north around 4:52 a.m. Tuesday when she went off the road, WHNS reports.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office says Jabbie, who was pregnant, was taken to the hospital, where an emergency cesarean section was performed. Both the 24-year-old and her unborn child died.

A friend is ing Jabbie as an intelligent woman who excelled in every career she had. She is also described as loving and caring with a heart of gold.

Jabbie leaves behind two children.

This case is being investigated by the coroner’s office and Mauldin Police.
