AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A strong low-pressure system will move along the Gulf coast and across southern Georgia, giving our area a chance for heavier and more widespread rain. The wedge pattern will persist today, so temperatures will continue to be cooler than average, with highs only in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Showers will continue off and on throughout the day. Rainfall totals are looking to be around one inch across the CSRA.

Chilly to cold mornings with warm and sunny afternoons return Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs reaching into the middle to upper 70s. Morning lows will be near freezing Tuesday in the middle to upper 30s Wednesday.

We get to enjoy a couple nice spring-like days Thursday and Friday, then a chance of rain returns for the weekend with highs next Saturday approaching 80 degrees.

We are monitoring the chance for storms next weekend(March 15th & 16th). As of right now, it is too far out for specifics, but we will keep you updated throughout the week!
