AUGUSTA, G.A. (WRDW/WAGT) - It was a packed house at Hooters on Friday as 12-time Masters golfer John Daly returned for a golf week tradition.

Customers were lining up, eager to get Daly’s autograph and merchandise.

It’s a golf week tradition where Daly makes an appearance at the restaurant.

He tells us this is where it all began nearly 25 years ago.

“It’s a family to me now,” said Daly.” Bobby Brooks signed me in this same store in 2001. It was a relationship I already had with the original owners, Ed Drosti and our Provident Group.”

Daly also has his own brand of alcohol carried by the restaurant.

He says this is one of his top spots in the country.

It’s a great brand, and you know, ever since I was a kid, I’ve always come into Hooters,” said Daly. “I’ve always loved the food because it’s always been consistent and it’s always been great, and you know this brand is always the greatest in our country, we are going to keep it going.”

Daly says he also has co-branded t-shirts and golf bags with Hooters.

“It’s not just something that I go, ‘oh my god, I have to go to Hooters.’ I’m excited to go to Hooters, man,” said Daly. “I’m excited to do things for these guys cause we’re a family, and whatever helps, we just do it.”

Daly’s last time playing in the Masters was nearly two decades ago in 2006.
