S.C. man kidnaps woman, holds blow torch to her feet for intimidation
WESTMINSTER, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said a man was arrested on multiple charges including kidnapping.
During an investigation, a deputy learned that a woman was assaulted by the suspect later identified as 20-year-old Nathan English.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Feb. 20, the victim met with a deputy who observed physical injuries on the woman’s body.
Bill would impose guardrails on S.C.’s license plate-reading cameras
A bill advancing in the state Senate would impose regulations on the cameras located across South Carolina known as automatic license plate readers, or ALPRs.

According to warrants, English held the woman for more than a week, choking her to unconsciousness, beating her and holding a blow torch to her feet for intimidation. Warrants also state he presented a gun and threatened to kill her.
Deputies said the incident happened in Westminster, S.C. at an address on Thompson Lane.
One day, deputies said English left the house in the woman’s Ford Ranger pickup and she was able to go to another location to call for help.
13-year-old killed, others hurt when S.C. school bus overturns
The Chester County Coroner’s Office confirmed the person who died in a school bus crash Thursday afternoon was a 13-year-old boy.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and English was later arrested and also charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, use of vehicle without permission and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
He appeared in bond court in Oconee County and was given a $365,000 surety bond.
English is also charged with trafficking methamphetamine out of Anderson County.
