S.C. dispute over stolen lottery ticket leads to deadly shooting
COLUMBIA, S.C. - A South Carolina man was arrested for murder following a violent dispute over a lottery ticket.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said Paul Williams, 70, was charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent offense and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
2 suspects arrested in latest downtown Augusta shooting
One man is in critical condition after a shooting early Saturday morning in downtown Augusta, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The department says deputies responded to the 800 block of Congaree Church Road on Wednesday night at around 8 p.m. after receiving word of a dispute over a stolen lottery ticket.
Deputies reportedly heard a gunshot when they arrived at the scene and saw Williams leaving a backyard with a gun in his hand, according to deputies.
Law enforcement found a man shot in the upper body in the backyard. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but died from his injuries.
Victim ID’d in deadly Orangeburg County motel shooting
The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 34-year-old.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victim as Matthew A. Flemming, 67, of Columbia.
Paul Williams was arrested and taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where he awaits his bond hearing.
