School police take weapon from student in Richmond County

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A student was found with a weapon at Belair Middle School Friday.
According to a letter sent home to parents, s were made aware of the weapon during the home room period.
A search was conducted and officials found a weapon, according to the school, and the weapon was taken away from the student.
The school continued with their normal schedule and RCSS Police remained aware but no further incidents happened, according to the parent letter.
The incident was addressed by school police following the Code of Student Conduct and Discipline.
