Alligator spotted on a golf course with a soccer ball stuck in its mouth

SUNSET BEACH, N.C. (WECT/Gray News) – An alligator in southeastern North Carolina was spotted on a golf course with a soccer ball stuck in its mouth over the weekend.
The Sunset Beach Police Department posted photos of the alligator on social media.
Several law enforcement officials responded quickly and were prepared to help the alligator with a safe intervention.
According to the police department, the gator rolled in the water and was able to dislodge the ball on its own before any action was needed.
“It swam away unharmed, though we can’t say the same for the soccer ball which sustained fatal injuries,” the police department said in the post.
