Which Braves are eligible for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park?
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The 2025 MLB All-Star Game is in Atlanta, which means Braves fans can see their favorite players at Truist Park come July 15.
The MLB All-Star Game ballot was revealed Wednesday, and nine Braves are eligible to be among the league’s best in this year’s Midsummer Classic.
The first phase runs Wednesday through June 26 to decide the three finalists at each position. The second phase will begin June 20 through July 2 to finalize the starting lineup.
Here is the full list of Braves players on the ballot:
- First base: Matt Olson
- Second base: Ozzie Albies
- Third base: Austin Riley
- Shortstop: Nick Allen
- Catcher: Sean Murphy
- Outfielders: Ronald Acuña Jr., Michael Harris II and Alex Verdugo
- Designated hitter: Marcell Ozuna
Pitchers are not able to be voted on by fans.
Murphy was selected as the Braves’ catcher on the ballot over rookie Drake Baldwin, who perhaps is the most deserving candidate of the bunch.
With right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver out for the season an elbow injury, Baldwin became the clear frontrunner in the National League Rookie of the Year sweepstakes.
The 23-year-old is slashing .318/.364/.518 with six home runs and 16 RBIs in 2025. He’d been platooning the catcher position with Murphy ever since the veteran came off the injured list in April.
However, fans can still vote for him via a write-in vote.
Olson, Albies and Riley have been underwhelming -- to an extent -- thus far and are up against some powerhouse names in Los Angeles Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman, Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte and San Diego Padres’ Manny Machado. It could be tough for them to gain traction in the balloting process.
Acuña has been on the roster for just 10 games thus far, but he’s picked up right where he left off and is hitting over .300 with three homers already in just 10 games. Ozuna, an All-Star with Atlanta in 2024, may have a hard time once again getting the starting nod over Shohei Ohtani.
