$5,000 reward offered in search for Orangeburg County shooting suspect
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A reward is now being offered in connection with a mass shooting during a party back in March, according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The U.S. Marshal’s Service has ed with the sheriff’s office to offer up to a $5,000 reward in the search for Sincere Gibbs, who is wanted on seven counts of attempted murder, according to a press release.
“This brings the weight of the county, the U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, SLED, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and the Sumter Police Department to bear on this case,” Sheriff Leroy Ravennell said.
Ravenell said the 18-year-old Gibbs, of Sumter, is wanted after a March 29 shooting at a party being held at 1175 Five Chop Road in Orangeburg.
“These could have just as easily been murder warrants instead of attempted murder,” Ravenell said. “This individual is dangerous because he didn’t care who he hit.”
Thomson suspect sets off wild chase that wrecks patrol car, kills him
A suspect in a homicide fled when authorities showed up at his home in Thomson, leading cops on a chase that ended in a fiery crash that killed him.

In April, deputies announced they were searching for Gibbs.
Seven party-goers were wounded in the gunfire, and multiple others were trampled in the chaos that ensued.
Warrants against Gibbs include seven counts of attempted murder, three counts of instigating a riot with a weapon, one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and one count of aggravated breach of peace.
Court records show Gibbs was out on bond for charges in Sumter County and was wearing an ankle monitor until Orangeburg County investigators say he cut his ankle monitor two weeks prior to the shooting in March.
The shooting drew the attention and concern of Solicitor Chip Finney in Sumter County.
“We have been inundated with this kind of stuff,” said Finney. “Every solicitor I know has their hands full trying to keep the community safe from people who have violated the of their bonds. We’ve got way too much violence going on in the community.”
The sheriff’s office says Gibbs is still considered to be armed and dangerous.
Laundry room fire causes inmates to evacuate Augusta jail
A fire at Charles B. Webster Detention Center led to evacuations on Thursday night, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The search continues, and Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell has a simple message for anyone helping Gibbs hide.
“We want to warn anybody that’s trying to hide him out. If you do, and we find out. You’re going to be in the next cell beside him,” said Ravenell.
The sheriff’s office says it believes Gibbs came to Orangeburg for trouble. They say details on who he was targeting are limited, but say it does not believe his targets were the seven people who were shot and trampled.
Anyone with information on Gibbs’ location is urged to call the US Marshals at 1-877-926-8332 or the Orangeburg County Communications Center at 803-534-3550.
