Ga. secretary of state speaks out about Republican pushback
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger made an appearance in the CSRA on Wednesday at an event for developing small businesses and addressing the challenges they face.
Raffensperger spoke at the Pinnacle Club in Augusta, giving thoughts about how the economy is impacting small businesses.
Georgia Republicans have been trying to ban Raffensperger from running as a republican in the future, but he isn’t concerned about it.
Cops search for woman who wanders off after North Augusta crash
Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for a missing woman who wandered into the woods after a car crash, according to the NAPS.
He said a run for governor or the Senate is still possible.
Raffenspereger is a former small business owner himself, and he gave insight into how businesses can succeed in our town.
When asked, Raffensperger also addressed the recent tariffs by President Trump and the new deal with China.
“I think people need stability, but I think they’re still working through that, and I think they are still working through that process, but the end of the day whatever happens, there is really a smaller issue and the big issue is that people have said we’ve been hollowing out our middle class for probably 1520 years and both sides of the aisle said we need to bring manufacturing back to America. But we understand we can’t be doing this low-skilled, low-wage type of work. It has to have an advanced manufacturing component,” said Raffensperger.
