Man killed with fire extinguisher during fight at Ga. apartments
ATLANTA, Ga. - A man was killed with a fire extinguisher during a fight at a northwest Atlanta apartment complex, according to police.
It happened at the Cortland Peachtree Battle Apartments on Peachtree Road, where police responded to a domestic disturbance involving a separated couple in the midst of a divorce.

A 70-year-old man was sent to the hospital after a SWAT standoff in Augusta early Friday morning.

According to investigators, the man, who was in his 30s, showed up to his wife’s apartment, where an argument escalated into a physical fight involving family of his wife.
Police say the man had a gun, which his wife’s relatives tried to take from him. The gun went off twice during the fight but no one was hit.
That’s when someone in the apartment hit the man over his head with a fire extinguisher.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
